What SHESA Connect does for you

The Presidential Summit adopted SHESA Connect as an institutional reform. That is the official description, and it is accurate. But most members will never read a policy recommendation, and the platform has to earn its place in ordinary use, not in a resolution.

So: what does it actually do for you?

  1. Your dues, in about a minute

Contributions run through the platform; MTN Mobile Money, Orange Money, card or bank transfer. You pay, and a receipt is issued immediately, with a reference you can quote. No forms, no waiting to hear whether it was recorded, no depending on whoever holds the notebook this year.

The same applies to the AGM. Register, pay, and your ticket arrives as a receipt with a QR code — you bring it to the check-in desk and walk in.

  1. Your brothers, findable

The strength of this Association has always been who is in it. A SHESAN in Douala needs a surveyor; there are three in the network. A young graduate in Buea wants to know what a career in public health looks like; four members have spent twenty years in it. Until now, finding them meant knowing who to ask, and hoping they picked up.

The member directory makes that reach searchable by profession, by branch, by batch. Mentorship and career development tools sit alongside it, built with younger alumni in mind, because a network that only serves the established is not a network.

  1. News before it happens, not after

Events, projects, announcements and reports are published once and visible to every member at the same time whether you are in Bamenda, Berlin or Baltimore. No more finding out about a reunion from photographs.

  1. Where the money went

Every project shows what it is raising for and how far along it is. Financial reports are published rather than recited. If you contribute to the dispensary at Sacred Heart College, you can see the total climb.

  1. Your own record, correct

Your batch, your branch, your contact details, your contribution history; held in one place, kept up to date by you, and no longer scattered across three lists that disagree.

What we ask of you

The platform is only as good as what is in it. Two things make the difference:

Register, and complete your profile properly especially your batch, your branch and your profession. A directory with half the fields empty helps nobody.

Then use it. Pay a due through it, look someone up, contribute to a project. The habits are what turn a system into an institution.

When

SHESA Connect launches at the AGM 2026 gala in Yaoundé on 14 November. Membership and financial systems migrate through 2027.
